And we’re so excited! No, I don’t mean my blog is moving, I mean that our family is moving. We were blessed to be given a larger home from my brother-in-law. Our current home is about 980 square feet in size, and the new place is around 1320 square feet. The main things we’ll be gaining is another bathroom (we only have 1 now, yikes!), a dining room, and a wider living room. The kids’ bedrooms will be a little bigger as well. Our new bedroom is actually about the same size as what we have now, but the master bath is just off of our room, AND is has a nice large tub. There’s also a sliding door at the back of the living room. Oh! How can I forget?! There is also a dishwasher! I think I’m most excited about this. 😀 I, of course, have pictures to show! There is a bit of work to be done on the inside. All of the carpet needs to be ripped out, the walls need painting and putty work, it needed a new roof, which we’ve already installed. There was also some mildew on the living room ceiling because the roof had leaked, but that’ll be an easy fix as well.
These are all before pictures. We haven’t finished remodeling yet, so I’ll be posting about it as we go along!
Here is Rachelle’s room. It’s kind of small and hard to get the whole room into the picture. Yes, that’s an old stove. We have a lot of junk to haul out of the house. Part of the ceiling in there fell down, so we had to clean it out and replace some insulation and then put up new sheetrock. That’s already been done, it just needs to be cleaned up. Her walls will be a neon green with her door being neon pink.
This is the kitchen. The door there leads into our closet, but you can’t actually open it because there is a shelf there for us to hang our clothes. I’m not sure what the people who owned the place before my brother-in-law were on. There’s all kinds of weird stuff we have to fix on the walls. We’re gonna take that door out, and put some sheetrock there and I’m going to mount some shelves to that doorway. I’ll be painting the walls here a nice shade of dark blue/green and brown.
This is the dining room. It’s not a huge room, but it’s definitely a big enough dining area. I just purchased our “new” dining table and chairs. I’ll share a picture of that later on. I’m excited for us to have a more central area to do our school work and Group Time! I don’t know if you can see any of the wall trim pieces or not, but it’s so weird. This room will be the same color as the living room.
All of the bedrooms have walk-in closets. This is our special closet. See that door at the end? That’s the door I was telling you about that’s in the kitchen. As you can see, you cannot open it all the way because of the shelf on the wall.
We are so excited and feel truly blessed to have this new space to move into. I’ll be posting our progress as we move along in this process. I hope you’ll follow along with me!
