Lately I feel like a headless chicken. I’m too busy doing everything to do anything! Mostly I’m cooking all the time, I think. I’m home with all 4 kids all the time, so someone is always wanting to eat something. As soon as breakfast is done, it seems like it’s time for lunch. As soon as lunch done, everyone’s asking about supper. My life revolves around food. What does your life revolve around?
Today, I didn’t make breakfast, everyone sort of fended for themselves. We went out to our favorite Mexican restaurant for lunch. For supper, I made fried pickles. I’m having strawberries with mine. Doesn’t that sound tasty? Nom.
Speaking of food and such, I’m wanting to have more storage space for stockpiling food. I’ve been looking for a hutch on Craigslist, but today after getting his hair cut, Jerm said that he saw some nice metal shelves at Lowe’s. After lunch, we drove there to look at them. They are super nice! I think they came in black or silver. I’m trying to decide which color I want. I think I’d like to get 2. Unfortunately, we don’t use our kitchen table, except to collect junk on, so I think we’ll move that to our storage shed, and then get rid of the microwave cart. I use it for storage, but we don’t have a microwave, plus the shelves have more space. Then I can put the 2 shelves side by side, and have a buttload of space! I’ve already ordered quite a bit of food from Green Polka Dot Box.Mostly tomato paste, chicken, and beef broth since I use it so much. I really need to get into making my own stock. I’m hoping Jerm will have time when it warms up more to slaughter the rest of the roosters. KerryAnn over at Cooking Traditional Foods made a list of foods that she orders from GPDB, so I got a few ideas from her. Also, if you use raw apple cider vinegar, their price is by far the best I’ve ever seen! I ordered a box of the coconut bars to keep with me (or snack on at home!) I probably would never have found those if she hadn’t made the list. All orders $10 or more get free shipping, however, if your order is more than 63lbs, there’s a $5 surcharge. Thanks, KerryAnn! 🙂
